The Virescent Mommy and Me Shoppers are perfect pair for all your activities around town.  A trip to the market, your lunch to work or use as a purse.

Virescent Shoppers are constructed from recycled and 100% organic cotton, and are beautifully fashioned in a variety of colors and designs.  Form and function really do go together, our reusable bags are sturdy.  Our bags are grown, woven and sewn in the USA.

Sizes: the Mini-Shopper is 10 inches tall and 8 inches wide and the Shopper 18 inches tall by 16 inches wide and 6 inches deep.

Recycled cotton is cotton fabric that is made from recovered cotton that would otherwise be cast off during the spinning, weaving or cutting process. Growing, harvesting and processing cotton creates much waste. One study estimates up to 40% of the cotton product is discarded between field and manufacturer, most of it ending up in landfills. Now, thanks to new developments in cotton processing technology, it is possible to recycle that waste into cloth. (Our recycled cotton bags are made of 74% recycled cotton, 24% acrylic, 2% other.)

Organic cotton is grown without pesticides from plants that are not genetically modified. Did you know that after tobacco, cotton is the world's second most heavily sprayed crop? About one-third of a pound of pesticides are used to grow regular cotton for a single cotton T-shirt.  The cotton used for Virescent Shoppers is from organic cotton plants that are 100% free of pesticides and not genetically modified.

Why Reusable Bags? Did you know that an estimated 100 billion plastic bags are used yearly in the US and about only 4% are recycled? That leaves a lot of plastic bags around to harm the environment. As the plastic bags decompose, they release toxic matter into our soil and waterways, contaminating marine life and polluting the water. According to the Center for Marine Conservation, plastic bags are among the 12 most common items found in coastal clean ups. We can ease this problem by using reusable bags instead of plastic for all our shopping. Each reusable bag you put into action has the potential to eliminate 1,000 plastic bags over its lifetime.
