Our bags are made from organic cotton fabric, certified by Ecocert. Eco friendly dyes, certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) and Vegan leather, carefully sourced to ensure minimal chemicals (no PVC here!)
Care Instructions: Vegan Leather - We carefully sourced a non-PVC material for our vegan leather. The polyurethane material we chose is soft, requires little maintenance, and is easily maintained with a damp cloth. Use mild soap if necessary. Convenience tip: Moist baby wipes will also do the job! Organic Cotton Canvas - We use certified organic cotton, which is free of chemicals that conventional fabrics use for reducing shrinkage. Please do not use the washing machine or dryer to care for your Canopy Verde handbag in case of shrinkage. Spot clean the organic cotton canvas with soap and a damp cloth.
Canopy Verde, a line of eco friendly handbags that are inspired by many things including a love of mid-century Danish design, the feel of my beautiful Brooklyn neighborhood, and a philosophy of making something in the most earth friendly way possible.
I have seen firsthand from working in the fashion industry how much waste gets generated with each season of product everything from pages of color printouts to yards of leftover fabric that end up in a landfill. Six years ago I enlisted the help of my friend and former colleague in Hong Kong, who is now part owner of a factory together we choose methods and processes that cut down on waste and reuse materials whenever possible. An added bonus is that I love working with another woman-owned business in a part of the world that has a lot of personal significance to me. I hope you love the feel of the wood details and the pop of orange that greets you every time you open your Canopy Verde bag. Canopy Verde is about creating something that is classic, well designed, and lasts season after season.
