PPC Signature Glass Necklaces

These enchanted necklaces are hand crafted from used bottles that have been tossed into garbage dumps throughout the streets of  Los Angeles. They are then gathered up, meticulously cleaned, cut, heated, formed and strung and no two necklaces are ever alike.

They are indeed a wonderful labor of love. Designed and created for The Plastic Pollution Coalition by Liz Marx Studios a local glass artist working in glass for over twenty five years.

Wearing this piece of art and giving them as gifts sends a message and symbolizes to all that the time has come to Refuse plastics altogether, and that we must now put our focus on the Reuse of glass and other sustainable materials instead.

The Plastic Pollution Coalition was created with the vision of a world free of plastic pollution and the toxic impacts of plastic on humans, the environment, wildlife and marine life.

The mission of the Plastic Pollution Coalition is to measurably reduce plastic pollution and its toxic impacts on people, animal and the environment. To achieve this mission, the organization has formulated two strategic goals:
(1) End the global dependence on disposable plastic, the primary source of plastic pollution.
(2) Reduce the overall global plastic footprint of individuals, organizations, businesses and governments.

Plastic Pollution Coalition is working on the following core initiatives:
 - Encourage, inspire and support individuals, organizations and businesses to end their dependence on disposable plastic, and to reduce their plastic footprint
 - Encourage, inspire and support plastic product manufacturers to own the end of life of their products (cradle to cradle); to invest in a new generation biodegradable products that does not use food-grade plant matter and is not toxic; and to self-regulate the output of non-biodegradable matter
 - Encourage, inspire and support the creation of economic incentives for businesses willing to invest in plastic alternatives; legislation and policies that curb irresponsible proliferation of disposable plastic
 - Encourage, inspire and support international leaders to form global alliances and agreements against plastic pollution
