What sets Wine Punts apart from the rest are the processes we have in place in our production.
- Fire polished rim - when fire polished, each glass will have a smooth
finish that is consistent with the rest of the glass. This process also
prevents cracking and chipping from normal use.
- Annealed - when glass is annealed, it is slowly cooled to relieve any
internal stresses. This process will increase the durability to
withstand even the harshest industrial use

- Where do all the wine bottles come from? Most wine bottles come from

- Are there any hazardous by-products from making wine punts? Absolutely not
- Can the glasses be placed in a refrigerator / freezer? Yes

- How durable are the glasses? Wine Punts drinking glasses are
extremely durable. Restaurant owners have stated they hold up better
than any manufactured glasses.
- Is the entire bottle recycled? Yes
The "punt" of a bottle is the indentation at the base of the bottle. In
the old days, when wine bottles were each made by hand, its very likely
that the punt was a result of the glass making process - but of course
experienced glass makers would have been able to "fix" this before the
bottle was done, and flattened the punt. Why didn't they? There are a
variety of theories about why finished bottles had punts. Its important
to note that nobody knows for sure :). The explanations below are argued
about endlessly at wine events.
For Champagne and sparkling wine, the indentation helps to give
structural integrity to the bottle, which has to be pretty strong to
hold the pressure of the bubbly wine. Also, it helps the bottles stack
if you are putting them one on top of the other during the second
fermentation stage.
